Remote dashboard mounted release and the Key in the secret keyhole won't iopen your Boot / Trunk? In this video we look at the methods of last resort to open the boot lid. These are secrets of the XK8 that I thought I would not share. The work arounds of last resort.
As Jaguar had built in alternate systems to open the boot should the primary method fail, they designed it to be exceptionally secure. Although this video is about the methods of last resort, I cant stress highly enough the need to make sure that you can open your boot using at least one of the two electically activated ways AND via the mechanical key hole.
You should treat a failure in any of the unlocking systems as a high priority issue to resolve.
