PROJECT STEPS
1. As the assistant to the director of the Department of Community Services in Montville, North Carolina, you are preparing a report to the City Council on the department's current and projected spending on community services.

On page 3 of the Word document, select the "[Insert spreadsheet]" placeholder text, and then paste the data as a link while keeping source formatting.
3. The spending amount for Recreation programs in 2020 is incorrect. In the Excel workbook Support_WD19_EOM7-2_Spending.xlsx, use $210,167.32 as the amount in cell D8. In the Word document, update the linked data, and then break the link to the Excel workbook since you no longer need a connection to it.
4. In the Excel workbook Support_WD19_EOM7-2_Spending.xlsx, copy the column chart in the range A11:E39 so that you can include the chart in the report. In the Word document, select the "[Insert column chart]" placeholder text, and then use a Paste option to embed the chart while using the source formatting, which matches the formatting of the Word document. Close the Support_WD19_EOM7-2_Spending.xlsx workbook.
5. In the Word document, resize the column chart to a height of 4.2" so that it fits on page 3 after the text that introduces it. Add Spending 2018 to 2021 as the chart title to identify the purpose of the chart. Add a legend at the bottom of the chart to indicate the meaning of each color in the columns. Include gridlines in the chart to make it easier to interpret the amounts.
6. On page 4, add data labels to the Inside End of the pie chart and display percentages instead of values to include the percentages on each slice. Display the legend at the bottom of the pie chart to match the placement of the legend in the column chart.
7. Open the Excel workbook Support_WD19_EOM7-2_Projections.xlsx, and then copy the bar chart in the range A12:E28 so that you can include the chart in the report. In the Word document, select the "[Insert bar chart]" placeholder text on page 4, and then use a Paste option to embed the chart while using the destination formatting to use the styles in the rest of the report. Close the Support_WD19_EOM7-2_Projections.xlsx workbook.
8. Change the style of the bar chart to Style 10 to match the style used with the column chart. Change the colors to Monochromatic Palette 5 to use a more conservative color for the bars. Remove the axis titles to reduce clutter in the chart.
9. The spending projection for After-school programs in 2022 needs to be updated. Edit the data in the bar chart to use $185,605.80 as the correct amount in cell C5.
