Lisabi - "Hostage" Sinking Ship Records A BlankTV Feature!

Artist Biography: Lisabi (Campinas, Brazil) blends latin-jazz, punk and prog rock -- sometimes effortlessly, sometimes with jarring results. One minute, their music is boiling over with energy, and the next -- simmering quietly.

Ska-turned-jazz/punk septets from Brazil (who write songs in English, Portuguese and Spanish) would have a tough time vying for an audience outside their native country, but Lisabi's sonic nuances deserve attention beyond the band's homeland. After releasing a full length, Au Diable Les Bananes, and the first EP in a collection titled Sensless Acts of Violence, they signed with Sinking Ship Records (who hope to prove that good and interesting music is not difficult to translate).

Lisabi are about to embark on an extensive month-long tour of the United States, which falls on the heels of the release of their new EP, Acts (out July 2, 2013), which is the band's most diverse and textured release to date.
