After a special election on Tuesday, Democrats are once again in control of the statehouse in Michigan, which actually gives them full control of the state for, at least, the rest of the year. Democrats are continuing to rack up massive electoral victories, and this could be proof that the polling showing a close national race between Biden and Trump are way off the mark. Democrats wouldn't be winning everywhere - including in deep red areas where they shouldn't have a chance - if the public was torn between which Party would be better in control. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

We are being repeatedly told that the race for the White House, you know, Democrats versus Republicans, it's neck and neck control of the House of Representatives. We don't know, maybe Republicans keep it. Maybe Democrats take it. Everything is so close right now. We, we just can't tell. The polls are all over the place. Right? Well, I would advise you to stop looking at the polls and instead start looking at election results. Because this week, Democrats in the state of Michigan, due to a series of special elections on Tuesday, retook the State House, Michigan is of course a vital swing state in this year's election. There were two seats up in this spec special election on Tuesday. Democrats easily won both of them by double digits, like in the twenties to 30 percentage point double digits. Now, Democrats were expected to win those seats. So I'm not sitting here telling you that they won red districts, they won bluish districts, but the amount by which they won was in fact staggering.
Democrats now for at least the rest of the year, depending on how this, you know, elections go at the end of the year, maybe they have it longer, but they've got control of the state of Michigan till the end of the year. They got the governorship, they got the state houses. Democrats got everything in that crucial swing state because voters said, we want Democrats, not Republicans. Kinda like that election that just took place, the special election in deep red Alabama, where a Democrat triumphed by, by actually campaigning on the issue of abortion. Democrats shouldn't have run that way, won that race. Democrats should not have won that race running on that issue, but they did. Jacksonville, Florida, same thing. Deep red, a hardcore progressive wins it. Democrats are winning all over the place. I don't know the last time that I sat here and said, oh, Democrats aren't doing good in special elections, folks.
Oh, Democrats aren't doing great. Every time I talk about these special elections, whether it's for George Santos seat or these other places, or the ballot initiatives that are very progressive, that are winning, Democrats are winning across the board, including in places where they shouldn't. So we're gonna look at those results all over this country and honestly say to ourselves that Democrats are in trouble. That doesn't make any sense. Oh, but the polls are showing these things. I don't give a what the polls are showing. What are the voters actually doing is what matters. And the voters are overwhelmingly saying, by God, we want the Democrats. I don't know about you, but I'm looking at results, not the polls. And if we're basing 2024 on what the results are telling us,
Not the polls, then this should be a landslide for Democrats in November. Now, I do not think it's healthy to have this, you know, just overwhelming optimism. Ha ha, Democrats are gonna win. Let's do that. I don't wanna give you a false sense of hope, but what we're now looking at historically, you know, for the last year and a half, Democrats are kicking and Republicans are falling apart. And I think that tells us a hell of a lot more than what any of these polls out there are actually telling us.
