In John's gospel, chapter 6 brings out various dimensions of the wisdom of Jesus, the risen Lord. Just recently, a multitude of people witnessed Jesus multiplying the little loaves and feeding more than 5000 people. Followed by, they saw him walking on water, thus, symbolizing his autonomy over the natural elemental forces of the earth. Today, we see the very same crowd looking for the disciples and their guru Jesus. Thus, they remain no more as a crowd but as a group of seekers! They were looking out for the source of all Wisdom, Jesus the Lord. Once again, Jesus directly calls them to work for the food that will endure eternal life. According to Jesus, one way of guaranteeing that permanent nourishment is through the simple means of believing in Jesus, the son of God whom God has sent into the world.
