A walk in the Western Lake District starting from Overbeck Bridge car park next to Wast Water. The walk first heads up to the fell of Yewbarrow (628m) The route up to Yewbarrow involves some scrambling up Bell Rib to Great Door. From Yewbarrow we take the path off the side of the fell to Dore Head where we then make the climb up to Red Pike (826m) From Red Pike we continue along the ridge to Scoat Fell (841m) before heading over to the spectacular summit of Steeple ( 819m) From Steeple we follow the wall along the ridge to Haycock ( 797m) We then re-trace our steps to the bottom of Haycock where we then turn right and descend through the valley of Nether Beck back to Wast Water. Distance is around 9 miles.
