Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland's longest-serving first minister, made a surprising move earlier this year by resigning her position, leaving political observers puzzled.

However, the unexpected developments didn't end there. Sturgeon was arrested by police investigating allegations of financial misconduct in the SNP after her husband, Peter Murrell, was arrested as part of the same investigation, plunging the party into turmoil. Both of them were released without charge and said they were confident that they'd done nothing wrong.
