Under the influence of industrial difficulties and limited capabilities, Iran is still upgrading the combat effectiveness of its army armored forces. At the beginning of 2017, the Iranian military unveiled for the first time the latest generation of the "Karrar" main battle tank that has entered the mass production stage. This new tank resembles the Russian T-90MS main battle tank in appearance. Therefore, the outside world once speculated that the "Kalar" tank was a "copycat version" that was imitated according to the patent license transferred by Russia.
