Sky News host Peta Credlin says the price of diesel is a key input into the Australian economy and the price has risen 23 per cent.

Ms Credlin sat down with Shaws Darwin Transport’s Allan Thornley to discuss the soaring diesel prices which are fuelling inflation.

“This is the hit to industry that will deliver cost-of-living pain,” she said.

“Diesel’s a key input into our economy … truckies who are the lifeblood of our consumer economy … they use it more than anyone else.

“Meaning when diesel goes up, the price of everything we buy goes up which of course increases inflation.”
