Uncover the Mysteries of Tynemouth Priory

Join me as I explore Tynemouth Long Sands beach, and Tynemouth Priory and Castle the latter which has been inexistence for 2000 years on the coast of North East England was once one of the largest fortified areas in England. Overlooking the North Sea and the River Tyne, it dominates the headland. The priory (church) is in partial ruins, and the site is also a former World War 2 military garrison and more recently the British Coastguard HQ which is the more modern building but its no longer manned by personnel. Together this one site encapsulates three entirely different eras of British History.
