The history of Kuber Bhandari Temple located in Vadodara, Gujarat is very interesting. It is said that this temple was built about 25 hundred years ago. Being on the banks of river Narmada, this temple is very special. Many people believe that this temple was not built by any person but by Lord Shiva himself.

The sacred Garudeshwar Dutt Temple for all the devotee and follower of Lord Datta is located in Garudeshwar. This place has a spiritual background because of Paramahamsa Parivrajakacharya Shree Vasudevananda Saraswathy Swamy Maharaj who took the Samadhi at Bank of Narmadar River at Garudeshwara in 1914.

It is belived that during his traversed the whole country on feet for 23 year, he arrived at Garudeshwar for his final Chaturmas in 1913 AD. Soon remote small temple believed to be place of penance of Garuda established as Garudeshwar Dutt mandir by Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati swami maharaj, great devotee of Lord Dattatreya and great Sanyasi.
The idol of Lord Dattatrey in temple is very inspiring due to its piercing eyes and beside this Samadhi place of Shree Vasudevanand Swami Maharaj is positioned. Narmada is sacred river and famous for holy bath, devotee takes holy deep in Ma Devi Narmade here at Garudeshwar.
