Pokhara is Nepal's second largest city and around a 10 hour drive west of Kathmandu. It's labelled as the tourist capital / adventure playground of Nepal with a variety of things to do from hiking, bungee jumping, sunrise spots, paragliding and more.

It was my first day in Pokhara so I set off from Lakeside, hired a rowing boat and rowed across lake Phewa to see the World Peace Pagoda and the largest statue of Shiva in Nepal. I also tacked on Devi's falls as it was on that side of the lake.

As you'll see in the video, both the World Peace Pagoda hike and the Shiva statue are well worth going to, though you'll want to figure out your logistics beforehand. I'd recommend hiring a boat one way for 800 nepalese rupees and then getting a taxi from the Shiva statue to Devi's falls and then back around the lake to Lakeside. Otherwise you'll end up like me walking a lot and having to go back up the hill to row back across the lake.

It's free to enter both the World Peace Pagoda and the Statue of Shiva, though they do have donation boxes. Devi's falls are also only 100 nepalese rupees (about 60p) - I was expecting different prices for locals and tourists but that doesn't seem to be a thing in Pokhara!
