How I reconnected with my biological African family after 17 years apart

At the age of 13 I lost my mother to cervical cancer, she passed away when she was only 32 and since then I have been grieving her loss 🕊️
Losing a parent is the worst thing I have ever experienced and the healing and grieving never stops.

For my 30th birthday, I reconnected to my African ancestry, after 17 years apart.
The love of my Angolan family and reconnecting and honoring the memory of my birth mother was the biggest gift I could get. This really wasn't an easy trip, but I am so glad I did it.
Reconnecting with my African roots was so powerful and I cherish every moment I did spend with my family in Luanda, Angola.

A big thank you to everyone that supported me and encouraged me to make this trip happen. This is the best thing I could have done for myself ❤️
