The Salam Center for medico-social services is an indigenous Christian voluntary association dedicated to community development, individual well-being, social justice and health care. Salam means peace in Arabic. The Salam Centre has been established in 1979 by the Coptic convent of the Daughters of St. Mary. It is located in an area called Ezbet El Nakhl in the north-east of Cairo. Our service focuses on the garbage collectors which are living here.
