After pinching a top-four spot right at the death, the Parramatta Eels will head into Friday night’s clash against the Penrith Panthers at BlueBet Stadium with nothing to lose as they look to upset the reigning premiers for the third time in 2022. The Eels have come away with the points in each of their two meetings this season and will now attempt to avenge a heartbreaking semi-final loss from 2021. Incredibly, Parramatta hadn’t been inside the top four since Round 7 before its 22-14 win over the Storm. It will be a full-strength lineup for the reigning premiers, including Nathan Cleary, who was suspended for a dangerous throw the last time these two teams met. He is one of a brand new starting 13 that was largely held out for the final week of the season. It’s a different story for Brad Arthur and the Eels, who have kept the same 17.
