💈 Old School & Cool 1970s Dicky's Barbershop | Rural Minnesota Wet Shave

Wet shave at a great old school shop from 1974 in Henderson, Minnesota owned by local barber Taylor Peulen. Taylor grew up in Henderson and has a few fun stories about rural life. Ask him when you’re in town!

Henderson currently has a town population around 1,000. The area is known for the Jolly Green Giant and the Little Green Sprout who you will see in Dicky’s Barbershop.

“It has always been a dream of mine to own Dicky’s. I first got my haircut there when I was 11, and really fell in love with Barbering right then and there. Richard ‘Dick or Dicky’ Downs, was actually the one who told me to go to Barber School and learn the trade. So it’s kind of a full circle thing, which is wild.” -Taylor Peulen

After going to barber college, Taylor spent several years working in Chicago. Ultimately, he returned to Minnesota and purchased the old school barbershop he grew up going to. His childhood home is literally across the street! Honoring the past, the shop is still called Dicky’s.

We love how this is a great community barbershop that Taylor is preserving! Friends from Taylor’s childhood stop by the shop for a haircut. Even the retired sheriff came by the day we were filming. And every day, Taylor’s grandpa stops by the shop ❤️
