Life as a Carmelite Nun - with the Discalced Carmelites OCD

Описание к видео Life as a Carmelite Nun - with the Discalced Carmelites OCD

When you think of a Religious Sister, perhaps what comes to mind is an image of nuns living in an enclosed convent, wearing long habits and praying all day - at least that's the kind of image movies like Sister Act and the Sound of Music have left us with!

As my videos show, this is not true of all Sisters - Religious Life is varied and vibrant, and often involves work in the wider community.

But there are some women today still called to a religious life of prayer and silent contemplation, such as the Discalced Carmelite Nuns in Christchurch, New Zealand (https://www.christchurchcarmel.org.nz/).

Sr. Cushla and Sr. Catherine of Christ give us a glimpse into what goes on behind convent walls.
