ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Gauri Maulekhi, who is on the board of many animal welfare organisations, was awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2018, for her contribution towards capacity building in the field of animal protection laws. She is a key resource person and trainer for the purpose of building the capacities of law enforcement agencies in animal law.

She serves as Core Faculty at National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad and serves as a member of several Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCAs) across the country.
A trustee of People For Animals - India's largest animal welfare organisation, she is also the Founder and Member Secretary of People For Animals Uttarakhand (PFA Uttarakhand) and People For Animals Public Policy Foundation.

Gauri Maulekhi continues to drive significant improvements in animal welfare in the country while promoting environmental sustainability and supporting farmer welfare.
