WORKING PRINCIPLE:
‎Lathe machining uses rotational motion of the workpiece and linear/ angular motion of the cutting tool to remove material. The workpiece is secured to the spindle (via chuck, collet, or faceplate) and rotated at controlled speed. The cutting tool, mounted on a movable tool post, is advanced into the workpiece – shearing off metal shavings to create the desired shape, size, and surface finish. Adjustments to spindle speed, tool feed rate, and depth of cut optimize the process for different materials and part specifications.
