What is more valuable than rubies? Rubys are one of the most valuable gemstones now because of their rarity. Three times Proverbs says That God’s wisdom is more precious, valuable than rubies. Job says in conversation about the wisdom of God that rubies, gold and silver won’t even be mentioned because there is no comparison.

For a couple of decades I’ve been fascinated by gem stones. I’m doing my first experiment in polishing some stones. I’m amazed at how long the process takes and how much patience is required.

I wonder what our lives would be like if we gave that kind of attention and diligence in pursuit of the wisdom of God.

It captivates me that we can tap into the mind of the One who put gemstones, gold and silver in the ground to be mined.

It thrills me that we can mine the riches in the treasure house of the Word of God.
