The Sangam Bridge or Wellesley Bridge was indeed resurrected in 1818 by the British East India Company. It was built over the confluence of the Mula and Mutha rivers and is one of the oldest bridges in Pune. The bridge was initially constructed for the railways, but when a new rail line was built to accommodate the trains, the bridge was converted to a road bridge.

Today, the Sangam Bridge is one of the busiest bridges in Pune, connecting the city center to the eastern parts of the city. Despite its age, it has stood the test of time and continues to be an important landmark in Pune's history.
