The government is all set to hike the sugar MSP in India. The cabinet will also be taking up proposals to hike the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane and MSP for sugar. This has been a long-standing proposal and has now been moved forward for consideration by the cabinet. The proposal states that the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane will be hiked to ₹ 285/quintal which is now priced at ₹ 275/quintal. Minimum Support Price (MSP) for sugar to be hiked to 33/kg from ₹31/kg.
