With the group exhibition "Horizonte (Horizons)", the Kunsthaus in Zofingen (Switzerland) concludes its series on the theme of nature and man. Curated by Claudia Waldner, the exhibition shows very different positions from the fields of painting, photography, video, installation and object art. On view are works by artists Esther Amrein, Rachel Bühlmann, Rosângela de Andrade Boss, Agnes Meyer-Brandis, Karoline Schreiber, Roman Signer, Una Szeemann, Ernst Waldner, and Caspar Wolf.
How far does my horizon reach? This apparent dividing line, which separates the sky from the earth, serves as a symbol for longings, utopias, and mental expansion of the personal field of vision. Again and again, artists are tempted to explore these lines, to observe them, to record them, and to point them out. In order to embody as broad a picture as possible in its artistic approach, Kunsthaus Zofingen is showing various positions from the fields of painting, photography, video, installation and object art from Switzerland and abroad. From the mountain ridge to the sea level, constantly following the flow of time, the horizon dissolves into clouds where it meets real occurrences and imagination in the space of thought. Shifting our perspective to these different horizons holds the interplay between movement and standstill - between here and there.
