Google Meet: Audio and Video Lock controls

Meeting hosts in Google Meet can now use Audio and Video Lock to turn off the microphones and/or cameras of other participants in the meeting and prevent them from turning them back on until the host unlocks them. As a meeting host or co-host, we can lock all participants' cameras so no one can turn on their video. Video lock doesn’t apply to host or meeting co-hosts. Once you turn off Video Lock, everyone can use their video again.

The new Audio and Video lock makes this feature more useful by enabling hosts to prevent participants from unmuting themselves after they are muted. This feature gives meeting hosts more control over their meetings by letting them decide when they want to allow different levels of participation from attendees, for example, to address disruptive participants

Important:

To use Video Lock, you must first turn on Host Management.
Once a participants' video is locked, they can't present/share their screen from any device. If they still need to share their screen, you can promote them to co-host.
