Find your glimmers and activate your vagus nerve

Описание к видео Find your glimmers and activate your vagus nerve

You've probably heard of triggers; sensory cues of danger that activate a fight, flight, or freeze response from the nervous system.

But have you heard about glimmers? Widely accepted as the opposite of triggers, glimmers are like micro moments of joy, gratitude, or peace, that come from appreciating the simple things around us, like spotting a rainbow, the scent of a flower, a moment with a loved one, or that first sip of coffee in the morning.

Glimmers might seem small and insignificant, but they activate the vagus nerve (Polyvagal Theory), which helps us to feel calm and open to social engagement. Teach yourself to have glimmers and recover from stress and anxiety faster.

This video is based on the ideas of Dr. Stephen Porges and Deb Dana.
