For their goals, almost all heroes of ancient Greece will stop at nothing and for whom the end justifies the means. The Chinese poet Cao Song (Chinese: 曹松, c. 830–903) wrote in his poem that the deeds of heroes were not worth mentioning and that their victories were built on the bones of ten thousand men. The heroes of Ancient Greece often treated love as a plot and trick, and once they got their way they would abandon their loved ones in despair, not caring about the cries of the other party, not to mention the death of the other party.
The hills and rivers of the lowland country you may have made your battle-ground.

As we told in "Written in the Stars·Curses - Price of Love", in 1270 B.C., Minos (Ancient Greek: Μίνως, Romanized: Minos) attacked Athens to avenge the death of his son. Athens pleaded for peace, promising that every nine years, seven virgin boys and seven virgin girls would be chosen to be sent to a labyrinth built by Daedalus (Greek: Δαίδαλος; Latin: Daedalus; Etruscan: Taitale) to be sacrificed to the Minotaur (Ancient Greek: Μινώταυρος, Mīn ṓtauros) to eat.

Father's Agent

In the olden days, women lived in a male-dominated world throughout their lives. The representative of male power was the father. Their mothers, who raised them, were just one of their fathers' agents. When their youth blossomed, they thought they were choosing their lovers, but they turned out to be nothing more than bloodless copies of their fathers. When Minos attacked Athens to avenge his son's death, he deceived Scylla (Greek: Σκύλλα) of her love in Megara (Greek: Μέγαρα). Scylla betrayed her father Nisos (or Nisus; Ancient Greek: Νῖσος) by cutting off his purple hair, leading to his tragic death. After helping Minos to victory, Scylla herself was dragged to her death in the sea by Minos in his warship. For Scylla, who longed for love, it was just a matter of giving her fate, from one (biological) father, or to another (lover) father.

Upon his return to Athens, Theseus was given a grand welcome by the Athenians, who not only celebrated his exploits but also kept his ship as a memorial. The ship was also used as part of a ceremony to honor Apollo.

Two Ghosts Scramble for the Body

Contemporary science has proved, that our body's cells are renewed at a rate of 60 to 100 grams per day, about 330 billion cells. The human body renews 98% of its cells in six months. So how often, and at what point, are we already a new me? Don't think that contemporary people who have mastered more advanced civilization are much smarter than ancient people, in fact, they have already thought about this question.

Dà Zhì Dù Lùn (Chinese: 大智度論; Sanskrit: महा प्रज्ञा पारमितोपदेश, romanized: *Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa) is a Buddhist scripture preserved in China that records the monks of Kashmir. The scripture is rumored to have been translated into Chinese between about 402 and 406. Then the original text would have been earlier. But there is no record of it left in the Tibetan or Sanskrit literature either. As a matter of fact, there is a great deal of Chinese scholars interpreting Buddhism and creating their own original content and falsely claiming that it was transmitted by Indian monks in the Chinese Buddhist classics. So Chinese Buddhism, too, has long been a disembodied ship of Theseus.

Philosophically, this paradox has multiple interpretations and corresponds to equally multiple controversies. In "Ideas and Action", I give an explanation. It will be very interesting and can be considered as a conclusion of "having cut off all afflictions and immediately attained Arhatship."
