"Tick Tock" Rolling Ball Sculpture

Описание к видео "Tick Tock" Rolling Ball Sculpture

From kinetic sculpture artist Tom Harold comes "Tick Tock," a rolling ball sculpture made entirely of welded stainless steel. This singular piece was created as part of a trade show display for a company in Canada. Precise measurements were provided by the client that had to be strictly adhered to in order for the piece to be of any use in the show display. The dimensions caused the sculpture to be tall, narrow and shallow, "like a grandfather clock," said the client, and so the sculpture's name came to be Tick Tock.

Other client specifications were the manual loading of marbles through a funnel in the right, rear corner of the topmost frame area as well as the central exit at the very bottom of the piece from which the marbles would drop into a client-supplied container. The unique extensions reaching out from the narrow central body of Tick Tock were also requested by the client. All other design elements of track and mechanics were conceived and created by the artist.

Rolling ball sculpture is a fantastic way to grab the attention of passersby in public settings such as trade shows, libraries, airports and museums as well as a wonderful diversion in waiting rooms and residential situations.
