How to fix a pool light - easy

Changing a pool light isn't as bad as it seems. Here are some easy tips:
1. Turn off the breaker in the main panel that goes to the sub pannel. If you are not sure, shut of the 200 amp breaker at the top of your pannel that shuts off all electricty to the whole house.
2. One screw at the top holds the light fixture in place. After unscrewing, the pool fixture light will float to the surface.
3. Use a 7/16" socket to unscrew the ring holding the pool glass to the aluminum cone. If you have moisture in there, you may have a bad fixture.
4. Try putting in a light bulb, turn on the power, flip the light switch to see if the light turns on. If it does, you just need a new bulb.
5. If to bulb doesn't turn on, you should have a GFI that may have been tripped. Try resetting the GFI. You may put in a new GFI for the easy and inexpensive fix first.
6. You need to replace the entire fixture if none of the easy fixes work. Follow my steps in this video to replace the fixture.
7. If you are not comfortable with all this, you can call a pool light repair company.
8. I wish I bought the color changing bulb and remote!
