Mopar Rocker Shaft Part 2

Описание к видео Mopar Rocker Shaft Part 2

When my buddy got his GTX it always had a tick on the passenger side. I pulled the valve cover only to discover whoever built the engine had the rocker shaft turned 180 and no oil on that side of the engine. I rotated the shaft and fired it up and started getting oil. Ended up having to replace the rockers as they were hammered due to no oil. I have the engine in my shed now due to a massive cam failure as noted in a couple of my other videos. I have to tear the engine down and clean it. I'm sure there is some shrapnel in the engine.

I am adding this to the description due to the fact that I forget things. But a viewer mentioned below that I forgot to add a little information. So this is credited to him. Bud Lancelot.

"You are correct that the oil holes face down, but you neglected to mention the oiling holes are not coplanar with the hold down holes. The oil holes are drilled at a different angle. There are "notches" in the end of the shaft to help you orient the shaft end for end. If you have the notches facing correctly, the oiling holes will not only be down but inclined the correct direction. Consult a FSM (manual) before you damage the rocker shafts/rockers, and quite possibly the entire engine if it goes on long enough."
