Cahill Road shattered the Kentucky Derby aspirations of the undefeated filly Meadow Star when he ran away with the Wood Memorial Stakes today. But only moments after he crossed the Aqueduct finish line, the colt's own prospects were in doubt. He hobbled back to the winner's circle, obviously lame in the left front leg that has troubled him through his short career. His Derby hopes were finished too.
