There is an annual open weekend at the Meiningen Steam Locomotive Works, this one took place on the 1st September 2018. There were at least nine fired up steam locomotives, perhaps the most stylish being No 18 201 - which recently hauled a special train to mark the 90th anniversary of the Rheingold service. In dark green with a white stripe it looked pretty impressive! The depot is one which services locomotives (steam and otherwise) from across Europe.
