Angelica got her Graves’ disease under control in 2011 after taking radioactive iodine. Although her thyroid issues were more or less resolved, she began to develop thyroid eye disease. At first, it was subtle. Angelica, age 20 at the time, didn’t want to go to the doctor for something that seemed pretty minor. But as time went on, her appearance began to change. Soon, she found herself refusing photos and lacking confidence, as her eye appeared to be permanently bulging out. Luckily, she found Dr. Douglas, and after a relatively painless procedure, she is herself again and couldn’t be happier.
