1919, The Conway Family house, Yorkshire. Mrs Conway and her family have it all; it's Kay's 21st birthday, the war is over, and her children look set for a bright and prosperous future.

But, in a twist of time and with a brief glimpse into the future, we discover that life hasn't played out as they had once dreamt. Aspirations have turned sour, relationships have twisted and the truth of what their lives become plays out.

In this extraordinary manipulation of time and of fates, Priestley's play comes to a climax as he subverts the narrative, taking us back to the moment this successful family began to sow the seeds of their downfall Time and the Conway's was written in 1937 drawing on J. W. Dunne's Theory of Time.

Alongside the more well known An Inspector Calls, Time and the Conway's is part of a series of 'Time Plays' that were written for the stage and played with different concepts and theories of time.

Time and the Conways is widely regarded as one of the best in the series.
