Today we're checking out the full release of Kitchen Sync: Aloha from Lemonpepper Games. You play either Kai or Kala, siblings on the fictional Hawaiian island of Maikai who take over the family business and recruit new chefs in their effort to become the best restaurant on the island.

For a game set on a (fictional) Hawaiian island, our menu has been worryingly light on seafood so far, and the game seems to think so, too. The main questline adds a seafood station to our kitchen (4:55) and forces us to use it, so naturally we add some crab meat to our manapua (12:00). Then we swap our spacious food court location for a tiny food truck (29:50), with the cramped quarters causing a few traffic jams in our work flow. The seafood theme returns later (1:20:50) when we acquire a garlic shrimp recipe thanks to our darling brother wolfing down dish after dish of it instead of doing his job, with the proprietor sharing the recipe as a make-good for all the free advertising. Finally, we return to the main questline for a Rising Stars competition at the restaurant association (1:43:30). It's trickier than advertised as we're required to use a pot and pan eight times each since a cookware company's employees are doing the judging, but we make it through thanks to the power of egg drop soup, saimin, and malasadas.
