The "Dordrecht Steam Festival" is a must do for people of all ages. More than 250,000 people attend this festival for good reason. Steam tractors, buses and (my favorite) boats! Dordrecht Netherlands is a gorgeous city in itself, but it really comes alive for this festival. As an expat coming from the US it's hard to believe places and events like this still exist as people from around the country and the world come to celebrate steam engines. There was plenty of Dutch food, drink and the somewhat elusive Dutch sunshine. When the sun come out...the Dutch come out. When we moved to Rotterdam we didn't realize that getting to these locations would be so easy, BUT with the Dutch transportation system... it's a piece of cake!
