Darwin, Nature, and God

This talk presents an introduction to the publication of Darwin's The Origin of Species as it would have been understood by his Victorian contemporaries. What was Darwin trying to do and why did he make his case the way he did? How did the people of the time react to it and why? Was Darwin challenging God, the Church or religion? How valid is the view of Darwin as a symbol of scientific and secular challenge to a Biblical understanding of nature?

The brightness was a little difficult to get right, the screen appears a little washed out, otherwise the rest would have been too dark to see.

I also noticed that the zoom had re-set before the recording started, so a little bit of the screen was cut off.

There is a small glitch near the end where the camera cut the file off and started a new recording.
