Amtrak AEM-7 saved from scrapper - Danbury Rail Museum - 5/2024

Описание к видео Amtrak AEM-7 saved from scrapper - Danbury Rail Museum - 5/2024

In May 2024 former Amtrak AEM-7 917 was delivered to the Danbury Railway Museum of Danbury, CT. It was saved from being scrapped like 12 others in Davisville, RI and will now be preserved and on display in their museum yard. Only a handful of these units have survived past Amtrak service and fewer have been preserved at museums. Other examples of these units can be seen at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and the Illinois Railway Museum.

This video shows the start of 917's journey from Davisville, RI to Danbury, CT. Seaview 1855 is seen pulling 917 out of storage and toward the interchange to the Providence & Worcester Railroad. Stay tuned for a future video of this and other museum pieces at Danbury.
