Visual Guide to Reservoir Engineering - Part 3 - Permeability

This video is the third of a 20 part online training course on gas and oil reservoir engineering. The series of videos started with simple concepts such as reservoir traps and porosity. This video introduces the fundamental concept of rock permeability. Later videos discuss capillary pressure, gas and oil properties and the diffusivity equation, and move onto more advanced topics such as material balance, decline curve, well-test and fractional flow analysis. The course finishes with an introduction to dynamic reservoir simulation and petroleum reserves estimation.

For a good introductory texts, the books "Fundamentals of Reservoir Engineering" and "The Practice of Reservoir Engineering" by L.P. Dake are recommended . A good introduction to reservoir simulation is given in the book "Principles of Applied Reservoir Engineering" by J.R. Fanchi.
