Question 1
According to Proverbs 23:4, instead of working really hard just to become rich, what should you have the wisdom to do?

In the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible,
Proverbs 23:4 states, "Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom,"

This verse is warning against obsessive pursuit of wealth and trusting solely in human understanding, as riches are fleeting.

Question 2
Why does Proverbs 23:17-18 tell us not to Envy sinners? What are we to do instead?

KJV 23:17-18 Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long. For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.
(Explained)
Don’t envy sinners. But always respect the Lord.

a. Why should we not envy sinners.

b. How does seeing how God takes care of us take away our envy?

THROW AWAY YOUR SINS.
(Active Game)
Divide children into two teams on opposite sides of a room separated by a tape line. Give each child a crumpled-up paper ball representing "sin/envy." For 30 seconds, they throw the paper balls onto the other team's side. The team with the fewest papers on their side at the end wins.

This game teaches that envy is a "sin" to be discarded, rather than something to desire.

Explain that sin, including the desire to be like those who do wrong, is just "trash" that needs to be thrown away. Following Jesus brings freedom, while acting like the world only brings more trash.

What does proverb 23:22 tell you to do for your parents, even when they get old?

One or both parents will lay on the ground. At that point it is the child's job to find a way to safely transfer them to the nearest chair.

List the problems of those who get drunk with alcohol mentioned in 23:29-30

KJV 23:29-30 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.

Some people drink too much wine. They try out all the different kinds of drinks. So they have much trouble. They are sad. They fight. They complain. They have unnecessary bruises. They have blood shot eyes.

a. What is the problem of being drunk?

b. How can alcohol be a trap for those who drink it?

Like clapping their hands or saying the ABCs. Then the same child will attempt to do that action very very slowly. Afterwards Explain that alcohol slows down a person's reaction time, making it harder to respond quickly and safely to things around them.
