From DFP to DEMP:
Directorate of Films and Productions Karachi has a rich legacy that dates back to per-partition era. The department was entrusted with the important task of film-making during the post-partition period years before the birth of PTV.

DFP had successfully accomplished all its tasks and had produced outstanding international films that won top positions in global competitions. Since 2012 DFP and Electronic Media Relations, EMR, Wing have been merged into Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications, DEMP.

DEMP is the custodian of National Film Policy and has a pivotal role in making of documentaries and arranging digital exhibitions and observing national and important days across the country in order to impart awareness among the youth.
