Log Train on the Racoon River Tramway

Hallo Waldbahnfreunde, endlich habe ich es geschafft meine neue 5"-Waldbahn anzuheizen. Naja, neu ist sie nicht wirklich, aber im vergangenen Winter habe ich an der Shay ein paar Reparaturen vorgenommen und in diesem Zuge die Lok komplett umgebaut in eine Open-Cab Shay von 1894. passend dazu habe ich auch begonnen die alten Disconnects zu reaktivieren, die zuletzt als Drehgestelle verwendet wurden. Die alte Moody Lumber Co. wird somit nach und nach stillgelegt und ab nun geht es zur Holzbringung entlang des Racoon Rivers in die Wälder der Carolina Sandhills.

Hi folks, it took me some while to get my new 5"-gauge log train on the rails. Well, the train isn't realy new, but I spend a huge redesign not only to the Shay, but also to the whole concept of my railroad. The Shay now represents an 1894 build open cab Shay and has rustic early style disconnects in tow. The disconnects were last used as trucks under my Moody Lumber cars and got resurected as disconnects with new log bunks added. The old Moody Lumber Co. will become a fallen flag by end of this year, when the Forney moves into my workshop to recieve her own redesign into a typical pre-1900 logging loco. So let's enjoy the Racoon River Tramway, somewhere in the Carolina Sandhills.
