Quickfire train action at Stratford station featuring 7 London Underground 1992 stock Central Line trains (4 westbound and 3 eastbound), 2 British Rail Class 315 TFL Rail trains (1x westbound and 1x eastbound) and 2 National Rail trains (1x westbound and 1x eastbound) in just under 7 minutes.

This video was taken moments after the Crossrail (Elizabeth Line) Class 345 Aventra train passed through on it's test run (see my other video at https://www..com/watch?v=x2t14hmCeNQ).

Stratford was the host of the 2012 London Olympic Games and the construction of the Westfield Stratford City commercial shopping centre (seen to the left of eastbound platforms of the Central Line and TFL Rail service) happened simultaneously when the Olympic Park was being built.

The Central Line is one of four selected tube lines to be given a big upgrade in the future as part of "The New Tube for London" project, along with the Bakerloo, Piccadilly and Waterloo & City Line services. This will see the current rolling stock replaced with brand new trains which are projected to enter service in the early to mid 2020s. The aim is to improve customer service which will mean higher operating speeds for faster journeys, higher frequency for reduced waiting time and improvements in efficiency, reliability, safety and capacity. The early concepts estimate that the new trains will increase capacity on the Piccadilly Line alone by approximately 60% but in order to improve safety and reliability, the four lines will see the installation of Platform Edge Door (PED) technology which is currently in use on the Jubilee Line from Westminster to North Greenwich.
