This video accompanies my series of blogs on training Sirocco the Kakapo. In this clip you see us introducing Sirocco to an owl puppet we hoped we could use to transfer his mating behavior. He has a problem of attempting to mate with people's heads. You also get to hear him doing a little booming (a sound associated with courtship behavior) and finally what happened when he attempted some sexual behavior. He is a nocturnal parrot, so sometimes the video is a bit dark. And the booming is very quiet...you might need headphones to hear it.
