'People obsessed with English medium schools, must be eroded slowly':NCERT SocialScience Panel head

In an interview with ThePrint, Michel Danino, a visiting professor at IIT Gandhinagar and chairperson of NCERT’s Curricular Area group for Social Science, says that the previous NCFs failed to change the education system in India. He said that we witnessed an unnatural situation in India in the past where the Indian content was almost nil both in the school and higher education levels. Responding to questions, like imposition of a certain type of ideology and politics in the education system, he said that keeping the accomplishments of Indian civilisation across the millennia out of the view of students would be a wrong ideology. He also denied any political pressure to include specific content in the textbooks.
