Practice violin speed and accuracy by grouping notes

Описание к видео Practice violin speed and accuracy by grouping notes

I'm Nathan Cole from http://natesviolin.com, and today we'll look at how you can gain speed without sacrificing accuracy on the violin and other instruments. Thanks to Noa Kageyama at http://bulletproofmusician.com for inspiring this video!

Sometimes when you practice slowly for too long, in the interest of playing accurately, you get "stuck" at that slower tempo. Or you might "plateau" and find that you just can't get any faster. The answer? A hybrid approach that lets you rehearse the finger motions you'll need to play blazing fast, but also lets you process the notes at your own pace. It's called grouping, and when you practice it the right way, you'll be amazed how quickly you'll get those notes to fly!

In this video I'll use two passages from the Tchaikovsky concerto to demonstrate how I use grouping to get the tempo up and fluid.
