However, post-wedding, the chores magically stop, exposing her misjudgment and igniting her wrath against the brownie. Despite her anger, she attempts to use the brownie again, only to be made a fool with a tailless horse. The story culminates with Barbaïk's vengeance against the brownie during a dwarfs’ fête leading them to retreat permanently, resulting in hardship and poverty befalling both Jégu and Barbaïk. The tale is a cautionary fable about vanity, misplaced reliance on magic, and the consequences of ingratitude.
