When I was twelve,
I went to see a friend,
To score some weed,

Her eyes where full of smiles,
And she asked if I wanted to stay for awhile.

The sugar cube opened my mind,
Everything became alive.
Things I never noticed began to move,
I looked past the normal groove.

A joy from deep inside flowed free,
It was the first time I could truly see.

The walls all breathed, the sky bent low,
A lotus bloomed in my rage filled soul.
Colors danced with sacred sound,
My naked feet drummed the holy ground.

I was tripping up the stars,
Flying through the self-made bars.
Time dissolved in liquid light,
Space bowed out, and all felt right.

The serpent curled inside my spine,
Uncoiled in rhythm, pure design.
The anger I'd worn like a crown of steel
Melted in a love that made me kneel.

I saw the All in grains of sand,
Felt the pulse of every land.
Shiva's dance in the trees sway,
I found no need for words to pray.

I was tripping up the stars,
Healing all of my scars.
Time dissolved in liquid light,
Space bowed out, and all felt right.

And when I came back down to breath,
I brought a peace that lives in me.
Now every moment is a door—
I wasn’t the boy I was before.
