Ben Zweibelson — The Military Design Movement — The Archipelago of Design

Описание к видео Ben Zweibelson — The Military Design Movement — The Archipelago of Design

Ben Zweibelson, as the Program Director for the U.S. Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) military design program, provided an introduction to non-traditional (military) design applications in complex, dynamic environments. Drawing from the history of traditional as well as military specific design movements, Zweibelson presented design as an example of the emerging ‘postmodern military movement’ coinciding with significant transformations in 21st century military organizations, language, decision-making methodologies, and problem-framing processes. Military design draws from multiple disciplines including sociology, complexity theory, postmodern philosophy, and traditional design applications. Zweibelson later provided a closing lecture for the Symposium that addressed the future of military design movements including the emergent and dynamic Canadian Armed Forces transformation. Mr. Zweibelson was the keynote speaker at 'Breaking Down Silos and Connecting Stakeholders: A Symposium on Systems Thinking and Design' organized by the Centre for National Security Studies and hosted by the Royal Military College at St-Jean on April 11, 2017.
