Ian McSperitt - White Knuckle Stroll by Casey Cangelosi

Описание к видео Ian McSperitt - White Knuckle Stroll by Casey Cangelosi

I originally started learning the first page from the free demo page of Casey Cangelosi's website in February of 2024 and just wanted to improve my speed and accuracy with mallets considering, while I have significantly improved each year of high school on mallets, I have always primarily been a drummer (Snare, Tenors, Set, etc...) I've always loved this and Casey's work in general so I wanted to try it out. After learning the first page and enjoying it, my percussion instructor (Mr. Tarkington) suggested I do this piece for Night of Percussiom that year and put my name on the program to make me commit to it. I was extremely nervous because it seemed like an impossible task, especially because I hadn't even ordered the music yet. I had a couple months to learn the whole piece and I did, thanks to his help and his willingness to pushing me I did it. I was extremely nervous but it turned out better than I expected. I don't know if I took a breath at all during my performance on stage and I was dripping with sweat all over our Marimba One keyboard. That recording was taken by my mom so thank you to her, I then re-recorded the piece a few weeks later before the school year ended and I graduated because I wanted a higher quality video. I took dozens of videos that day to try to get a video worthy attempt but this was the best that came out, not perfect but good enough until I can use a marimba again to record a better video. This piece taught me a lot and was a ton of fun to learn and perform. Now that I'm graduated I need to figure out what my future holds, might make a video on that sometime but I'm not sure. Thank you all for watching and I hope you enjoyed. Have a great summer!
