Yosuke Hayano Architecture's Emotional Connection to Nature

Yosuke Hayano speaks on how the idea of designing a building in congruence with the environment has become central to MAD’s architectural practice. Five selected projects illustrate the collective’s vision of the future city where the built environment shaped by nature’s dynamics helps to establish a deeper emotional bond between humans and their surroundings.

Yosuke Hayano is a world-class architect and a principal partner at MAD Architects, an award-winning architectural practice based in Beijing globally recognized for its innovative designs such as Yiwu Grand Theatre, Tunnel of Light, Harbin Opera House, and Chaoyang Park Plaza. Their plans for Shenzhen Bay Culture Park, a massive cultural complex including performance centers a museum, and public green space is expected to be completed in 2023. in 2019, Centre Pompidou, Paris, acquired 12 of MAD's architectural models, 10 of which will be shown for the exhibition 'MAD X', featuring both completed works and those currently under construction.
